058: From Microsoft to self-defense “ninja”
Is your job stressing you out? Do you dread going to work? Wake up at night thinking about your job?
Maybe sometimes you even get SICK from the stress?
If the answer is yes, you’re not alone.
The good news is, you can turn things around.
And my guest has lived to tell the tale.
On this episode of the Dr. Gundry Podcast, I speak with martial artist, self-defense teacher, and entrepreneur Fauzia Lala.
While working at Microsoft, the Dubai native experienced severe harassment at the hands of some of her coworkers — and the hostile environment caused her health to take a nosedive.
Finally, she left the company to become her own boss… and, admittedly, struggled before finding her footing.
But through the ups and downs, she persevered, fought away feelings of self doubt, and ultimately, created a life more fulfilling and healthier than she could ever imagine.
Tune in to learn self defense basics EVERYONE should know, and tips for overcoming roadblocks and achieving success in your own life.

Dr G, I love your podcast! I look forward to driving to work with you and your guest each Monday morning. Takes away my Monday blues!
I am a careful follower of the PP plan since October 2017. My most recent bloodwork shows that my ferritin level is very low though everything else looks good. I’d rather not take traditional iron supplements as they can be difficult for me. Do you have any advice?
Hi Dr G. My wife and I started the plant paradox diet 10 weeks ago, not just to lose weight but to see if it would help with our seasonal allergies and also hopefully reverse my wife’s early stages of rheumatoid arthritis in her fingers. This time of year we are both usually on Zyrtec or Allegra, but this season we are not taking anything for allergies and neither of us have any symptoms. She has also lost 18 lbs and I lost 22 lbs. We don’t limit the quantities of what we eat, we just stick to the yes please lists and the recipes in your books. We feel great and are very happy.
My wife used to drink Chardonnay and that is the only thing she really misses. We have switched to red wine an occasional scotch, but she really prefers white wine. Red wine upsets her stomach and gives her heartburn. Our question is why is red wine ok but white wine isn’t? Is it a Lectin issue, or is it just that red wine is better because of the polyphenols and resveratrol? Is Chardonnay definitely not ok on the diet? She would love to switch back to drinking white wine vs red.
