077: Dr. Says: Eat cheese?
Ever since I published The Plant Paradox, I’ve been getting A LOT of questions about my Yes/No list of foods.
And that makes sense — I’m constantly learning new things (and food companies are constantly tinkering with their recipes) so my list is always evolving.
So on this episode of The Dr. Gundry Podcast, I dive into the mailbag to answer burning hot questions like:
- Honey — is it in or out?
- Will pressure cooking destroy ALL lectins?
- Can you drink almond milk?
And many, many more…
So join me for this week’s episode and get answers to some of your most pressing questions — including how yours truly eats THIS lectin-containing food (prepare to be shocked).
In this episode, you’ll learn:
- One healthy nut you’re probably eating that may soon come OFF my “Yes” list (2:00)
- Why we’re the only animal with this one weird dietary habit (5:20)
- Why you should ONLY be buying this one “superfood” locally (and why it’s not included on either my Yes or No list) (8:50)
- The 1 lectin which can’t be destroyed — even by pressure cooking! (10:45)
- My simple “fridge” trick for eating THIS lectin (13:00)
- How doctors were bribed into recommending this fruit to you — and why MANY of its “so-called” health benefits are a LIE (15:30)
- The “lectin myth” that’s dogged me for years — and why it’s NOT true (20:05)
- Two absolutely essential nutrients missing from our soil (and our diets) — and how you can get more of them (21:20)
- Why THIS dairy product is much safer than even organic milk (29:45)

having stomach problems, talking Tums but this is not good as i have kidney stones in my health history.
I am checking into surgery to repair my Hiatal Hernia.
Do you have any suggestions
Dr. Gundry,
Would you please explain exactly what Quorn Grounds are and if they are safe? You said early in your podcast that you were changing your stance on Quorn products. Does that include the Grounds? Are they a man made mold? Feeling creeped out about them! 😬😳
you’re my best people don’t go no pressure cooker or don’t have the money but a pressure cooker I am wondering if the canned goods like tomato and beans any any other foods out there require a pressure cooker it’s be OK to use by your list
I m from Argentina, and I m quite impressed after reading your Plant Paradox book recently. It made me break my paradigm of healthy whole grains..
But, I have some hope about oats. I ve read from a post a long time ago that fermenting oats with vinegar for at least 12 hs could transform it into a better food, by eliminating the “antinutrients”. Making paralelism now I realize these could de lectins. And similar to quinoa, ancient cultures also had this habit of fermenting..
